Remington S7330 Wet 2 Straight Flat Iron Review

The Most Affordable Wet-to-Dry Flat Iron, the Remington Wet 2 Straight Flat Iron

If you have hair that is long and thick then you will understand the pain of not just being able to straighten your hair without spending what seems like hours with the hair drier beforehand. It is even worse in the summer when it is hot anyway and you have to spend a good twenty minutes at least with the hair dryer on full blast. There have been so many times when I have thought about just having my hair cut off so that there is just less of it to dry and straighten.

An alternative that I had heard about was wet to dry flat irons that dry your hair as you straighten. I was a bit unsure about trying these out as I was not sure that I wanted to put hot irons onto my hair when it was wet. I was wary about hearing that sizzle that means your hair is getting fried.

Ease Of Use

  • Eliminate having to dry your hair with this flat iron
  • Great for lazy stylers who want to skip an extra step
  • Wide Ceramic plates help straighten and dry your hair in no time at all.

  • Takes some getting  used to the steam and hissing sound the iron makes
  • Some users have commented that the plates feel like they are pulling on your hair

A Flat iron with Vents, What??

I decided to try the Remington Wet 2 Straight 1″ Slim Plate Wet/Dry Ceramic Hair Straightening Iron With Tourmaline. The main reason for this is that it has vents on the body that offer the hair drying function. There will be a hissing sound when you run the straighteners over your hair but this is not actually anything to worry about as it is just the heat and moisture escaping through the vents.

Are you ready to skip your hair dryer?

It is far easier to just be able to straighten your hair while it is wet rather than having to dry it first but there are a number of other advantages that the Remington Wet 2 Straight offers. It has an auto-off function that will turn the straighteners off after an hour. This is perfect if you often forget to turn your straighteners off after you have used them. We have all had that moment of panic after we have left the house when we can’t remember if we have turned them off or not. Remington Wet 2 Straight Flat Iron Review

It also comes with a choice of different plates so that you can choose the one that suits you best. For most people the 1″ plate will be more than enough but if you have really thick hair then you may find that the 2″ plate is the better choice. One of the main advantages of the Remington Wet 2 Straight is that is does not cost as much as you may expect. It can save you a lot of time when drying your hair and there are a lot of people that would be happy to pay a bit extra for this convenience.

Weaknesses of the Remington Wet 2 Straight Straightener

  • Don't expect to make one pass through your hair and have it dry and straightened.  Depending on your hair type and thickness if could take 2-3 passes to get your hair dry and straightened
  • Some users have said that the drying process leaves their hair dry and damaged, most likely from having the heat setting set to high
  • The Quality of this Remington Flat Iron is not up to par with other Remington Flat Irons I have used in the pass, but for just over $25.00 what do you expect

There are some disadvantages to the Remington Wet 2 Straight Hair Straightener:

  • The plates are only ceramic coated. This does not give as good a finish as you would get with a ceramic plate. It may also be more prone to becoming chipped and this will also affect the performance.
  • It will straighten wet hair but it does not necessarily dry hair as it straightens. It is just heating up the hair rather than blowing air through it. Even if hair is perfectly straight when it is wet then it may still get some kinks in it when it dries.
  • People with very thick hair may still struggle. Reviews have suggested that very thick hair may need to be damp rather than wet to get the full benefit of using these straighteners.

Wet to Dry, Is it worth it?

I have to confess that I was not really brave enough to try the straighteners on my hair when it was wringing wet. I left it to dry naturally for a while before using them so my hair was more damp than wet. Even with taking this time to let my hair dry off a bit it was much quicker than it would have been if I had used a hair dryer first and then straighteners. I was happy enough with the results that I got using them when my hair was damp and they were a lot more convenient.
